My name is Emily Houston and I graduated from Marist College, located in Poughkeepsie, NY, in May 2016. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Communication, a concentration in Journalism, and a minor in Global Studies.
I am from the small town of Londonderry, New Hampshire, and have a love for the state as well as the entire New England region. Growing up in a small town has taught me to love my roots, but I have also fallen in love with, and been able to call cities such as New York and Florence my home.
Within my studies, I am interested in the area of travel journalism, cultural criticism, and feature writing. I have always been drawn to different cultures, places and sights around the world. Each city and town offers a new perspective on the world around us and speaks to the international importance of diverse lifestyles and human values.
I have best been able to capture this culture and spirit through writing and photography. By combining these two artistic mediums into this blog, I have created an outlet that allows me to showcase my abilities and talent.
Enjoy a personal and professional look into the travels and life experiences abroad, as well as on campus at Marist College, that have sparked my sense of wanderlust and interest in the dynamic world of journalism.
All photography, videography, and writing is my own unless otherwise specified.
